Finally

have the carrots and radishes in the ground along with the lavender and rosemary.  Still have the green beans to plant along with the potatoes. Dad has to finish up the spot for those but all will be in the ground by the end of this week.

In two weeks time I'm going to have to transplant the carrots and radishes into different pots but hey my garden will be flourishing.  Positive thinking!

Remember Dick and Jane

the movie with Jim Carrey and the front lawn?  Well then picture the back yard!!!!! Remember???

WE HAVE GRASS
This is both ends of the picnic table.

sore all over

Yesterday was a good day.  We got up and immediately went shopping for our garden plants and essentials to get our garden started.  Went to Home Depot and Russells Feed store.  Bought dog food and garden soil and a few plants at Russell's but when we got to Home Depot we bought more.

Came home and it was raining just a little bit so we put on rain gear and unloaded vehicle and proceeded to put plants into soil. Now we have a garden started and the rain that followed settled the soil for a good beginning.  We Have:
1.  Tomatoes
2.  Green Bell Peppers
3.  Yellow Peppers
4.  Red Peppers
5.  Green Onions
6.  Strawberries
7.  Lavender
8.  Lemon grass
9.  Rosemary                       ALL IN THE GROUND.

Dad still has potatoes to be put into ground but he hasn't started those yet. Hope he gets them in soon.

After this little adventure we decided to go through some more boxes and emptied out 3 more. Got rid of a lot of things and saved a few for the kids....hahaha.

By Now the bodies were screaming so we got into the Hot Tub and relaxed thinking we could go to bed and go to sleep.  RIIIIGHT!  NOT. Got in bed and we were wide awake so we both took Half of a Melatonin and slept hard until 13:30.

Just a little sore today but the mind is dragging.  I really don't like even half of Melatonin but it does make me sleep.

Today, we're looking for carrots and green beans. Fingers crossed.

SNAKES!

If you know anything about me ....You know I hate snakes!  This morning when I came out to my chair I walk across the floor and it looks like a thick piece of yarn on the floor in front of my chair.  I bend down and look closer and I start to pick it up only to get a closer look at it.

Yes! I let out a little scream and told Buck that one of the animals brought in a snake and bit its head off and then left it in front of MY CHAIR.  I HATE SNAKES!  It may have only been a small garden snake but it was still a snake. (shivers down my back)

More Reorganizing

Ugh, yes, I thought I had a plan for my threads until I discovered how many I really have. Well, that idea went out the door. Had to make some space, which started a snowball effect of reorginization. Oh well, this craft room is a work in progress. Wonder how many more changes I'll make this year.

This killdeer made a nest in our driveway. My neighbor told me they make a nest right there every year.  I'm hoping she's able to succeed. At least she's use to the truck and myself walking by to check mail.

Looking looking looking

Still doing the hexies and the shawl but now I think I found a Quilt Along I want to join.

Sew Fresh Quilts

Hexie Diamonds

Well, I added the last two rows of diamonds to the top. Looking good. From there I sat down with graph paper to figure how I plan to complete this top. Now, I'm busy sewing the last tid bits up to fill out the top. Once, I'm finished with that it will be time to square it up and quilt. Yay!

I'm already itching to start another. Diamond stars or a row by row hexie designs. Oh, the possibilities. I think I'll do the stars first. It's going to be a bit of a challenge for the row by row and this will give me plenty of time to cut hexies. Really don't want to run out.

Thank You Daughter

My sweet daughter came over to the house yesterday and helped get me motivated and inspired and even a little organized.  My quilt board was fuller and now it's getting empty....
I took those two blocks down and squared them up and then sewed them together.  I now have an original pillow by me  :-)
  Front  Back
Thanks again Lisa but now I have to clean my machine. Thread keeps globbing up and won't let me sew anything.

Behind

I haven't got much sewing done this week. Been busy in the kitchen. Been baking breads and even canned more apple butter as well as cranberry apple butter. Yummy!
Yes, more butters. My family ate it all gone and when I went shopping 3lb bags of apples were saling for 98 cents. So, of course, what was I to do. Have to say they're happy with all the work.

I did sew me up some bread bags for putting my bread up. So my sewing machine got some use.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Well the cabinet I was hoping to acquire fell through. However, my husband brought home a lovely dresser for our bedroom. So, with some rearranging, I wrestled our old dresser into the craft room. Then I proceeded to gather my fabrics, refold and organize them into the drawers. That way everything is close at hand. I think it turned out well.

Yes, I know mom. Need to come over your way and help you with yours.

Insomnia

After spending dinner with David and Flora, we came home to watch a little TV. I had a small case of heartburn from the Mexican food but I thought it would go away. By 0400 my Stomach has settled enough that I could lay down but then I couldn't sleep because I couldn't breathe. I got on my CPAP and it helped as long as I laid on my back, but then the straps are so worn out they kept slipping off my head so I put my CPAP away and tried to lay down again but more in a sitting position.  Now the heartburn returns and it is building to a scorching ball of fire.  I definitely can't sleep. Here it is 0700 and no sleep and still have the heartburn. Instead of tossing and turning in bed I get out so hubby can get some rest. I'm now in my chair in a reclined position...I can breathe but can't sleep.  Took medicine to get rid of the heartburn and am now waiting for it to take effect. Gonna be an interesting day.  NOT!

So Close

Been working away on my scrappy diamond hexie blanket. Just have two more rows to add and then my filler triangles. So, got busy cutting out more hexies.

All in all good, because it gave me something to work on this morning while I sat at my husbands work place waiting to go vote. Its a one car situation over here.

Found a project

and finished it tonight, I made an orange one even though my colors aren't orange but it will stand out in the kitchen.
Bottle Brush
and yes I'm making a Blue one for Lisa.

Figuring things out

Trying to put my hexies together and so far it's a lot of trial and error. Boy have I made some mistakes. Can't find tutorial on joining them so I'm playing around.
I think you can tell my flowers and my joiners.

Shelf, Finally

My husband started working on a cubby shelf for me months ago. I know he's busy and doesn't have a proper workshop or shed. To say the least he has worked on it when he could. Today he finally hung it in the craft room. It's so pretty and I'm so happy. A lot of the things on the shelf were stored under my quilt frame making it a bit difficult to work on my quilt.

Now just to get him started on my next shelf/window seat project. I sure do keep him busy.
