Suburbia

I woke up early and only Jared and Justin were home. I talked them into teaching me how to play Suburbia where you build your own town. I need more practice....lol

Tumbleweed

Back on track and here is the tenth block, the Tumbleweed. It can be trying but make your triangles first, then square. Voila! I'll admit, I'm quite sure I made plenty of mistakes, I'm just not going to point them out. ;-)

Our next block The Tumbleweed

Got mine cut out and I'll sew it soon. I have a busy week and next week going fishing.

Update

We had a blast playing board games this weekend. Taught her fleet and lost both games. Then my boys joined us for Sheriff of Nottingham and once again she beat me. The next day my husband and I helped her learn Flash Point, brought the building down in the round, but saved the day in the second round. Then we had lots of laughs playing Black Fleet, I make a great pirate!

Well, the first nine blocks of our sampler quilt is done. Yay! Three more to go and glad to say they have no set in seams, double yay!! Of course, I'll need to rearrange the order of blocks.

Passing Time

Both giving a little time away from machines to play a game called Fleet.

This is our second game of Fleet today. Safest fishing game so far because last time I took Lisa fishing she launched my brand new pole (never used) into the lake. Lol

The Diamond Star

OMG! I like it but to me it was a major pain. There are so many puckers I'm glad they're in the dark part of the star.
This one I'll not do AGAIN!

Diamond Star

This is a block I will most likely never do again. Im glad we did secret drawers after all first. This block had many more set in pieces. Enough for me to shake my head just thinking about it.

Also here is the purple pixel block that I finished yesterday. Two sets down, now to bag up a third set and start sewing again.

Chair Snatcher

Been working on another of those pixel blocks. They sure do take time and lots of ironing. Looked at time and thought better prep for the grill. When I'm done and turn around to my space I see Jackwad (named by my oldest son, and I believe the cat is living up to his name where I'm concerned) has snatched my seat. He tends to sit in any seat that I've occupied, it's like musical chairs with this cat.

Laundry out

Couldn't Sleep

Out in backyard and have me a small fire going. It's cool out right now but not cold. Fire burning to keep mosquitoes off me.

Got a load of laundry washing and waiting to put it on the clothesline.

It's nice out here. Mmm coffee.

Secret Drawer Finally

Thought I'd of finished with my mom but she had completed it without me. Oh, well. Needed to clean my sewing machine before doing anymore projects.

Finally finished it this morning. Never cared for set in seams, but did fairly well for my second try.

As my mom posted earlier, I've cut out the next block. However, we're both not liking the looks of them. I know she plans to work on hers a bit more before we sew them up.

Not feeling Diamond Block

Lisa cut out her block and we both feel like this block isn't right.  But her dad says he's feeling it. Lol

0900 Sunday

Good morning !

Woke up and started my chores and now it's 10:00 am and I've looked at my design board and I don't like what I see.
1. It's too dark to me
2. Looks like a fat plus sign
3. Needs to show star more

Coming to you Live on Sunday

Well Saturday was a repeat of my sleep pattern. Took a nap at 2:00 pm and woke up at 9:30 pm. So I watched a little TV and then at 11:00 pm I decided to cut out the Diamond Star block. Not what I expected.

Sappy Saturday

Insomnia

I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping normal hours.

I use to stay on my husbands schedule but lately it's been way out weird. Like tonight...I went to take a power nap at 2:00 pm and ended up waking at 9:00 pm. Now it's 1:07 am and I'm still awake.

I do wish this would stop.

June 17th

We said we were going to wait and do the Secret Drawer later. I had mine on my design board and my pieces kept falling off.

I think it was just telling me to get over there and finish it...so I did. Now my toe hurts more but it's done.

Hope Lisa doesn't get upset. She has so much she's working on. I don't know how she keeps it all straight.

Well of course I did it on purple first and then the red and black.

So which do you prefer?

Couldn't Stop

I pushed myself. I just wanted to get that bumble bee block to a 6½" square size. So, I kept at it, took me three tries, but I've succeeded! Yay. Now to make sure I write it all down, so I'll have for future reference.

Diamond Star

Ok this is another inlay block.  We have to get together to discus color and hopefully on Thursday we'll get her done.

Secret Drawer

Gonna put this one on the back burner for a little bit and work on next block. We'll come back to it later in month.

Working

Working on all sorts of quilt projects, trying to complete, and keeping my mind off of starting something new.

I believe it's been decided that we will be shelving the secret drawers block until my mom and I can get together to work on it. We'll be starting the next block and hopefully showing them off next Thursday.

I've finished two more pixel blocks and have another up on the design board. Going through a box and came across a simple block lap quilt, that I finished sewing together.

Got my third book in the mail. Quilty Fun by Lori Holy and simply couldn't resist the bumble bee block, which I sized down, and will be honest, I was hoping for a 6½" square and got a 5¾"x5¼" block. It still looks good!

Back to Secret Drawers

Well, I've broke down and with my toe getting a little better I made it to my table to finally cut out the pattern.

UGH! Yes, I got it cut out but once I put it together it didn't look right.  Sooo, I called Lisa in and she saw my delimma.

Thankfully it didn't take a lot to correct. Now it's sewing time only I can't use my foot in my pressure pad to sew.

Just A Doing

I know we generally post our sampler blocks today. I don't want to work ahead, so I've been busy with other things.

I bid on 3 books on eBay and the first two have arrived. I'm so excited and just want to jump right on in. However, working on curbing my impulsiveness. I already have 8 different quilts going in different stages. Better keep my focus on them.

Finished two more of the first squares of the 4 pixel quilts I'm working on. So, now working on another set. I have a little over 80 squares to do and then to place all in order. I really do believe the kids will enjoy them.
