Seeing doctor

Tomorrow.  Still feel bad.  Nose still running, head is dizzy and I can't seem to keep anything down.
Taking musinex and trying to stay hydrated. Kind of hard when I take something in it comes right back out.
I've been diagnosed with sinusitis and bronchitis but then so has dad.  We both have a touch of flu and that is what tipped us over the scales.

Feel horrible

Woke up this mourning to a sore throat, runny nose and sniffles.  Every joint in my body is screaming ast me and I feel like I have all the signs of the flu.

Buck isn't any better. His has gone into his chest and he needs to see a doctor. Our doctors office is closed until Monday.

Well we'll take care of each other like we always have and eat potato soup.

Side Trip

Decided to take a side trip while we were in the area. It was just 35 miles west on the road back home. We went to Goliad Mission.

It was a rainy day but we stopped anyway and took in some history. The sidewalk in front of the mission is an uphill climb and yes I did it and it took a lot out of me. I had to rest under on of the arches to the museum.
from here I could see the courtyards.
I went into the museum and walked around a bit. Dad took pictures and we have a picture of a model of the mission. An old canon.

It was really interesting to see all the things they've actually found.  I couldn't make it out to the work buildings or ground area but dad took pictures for me.
forge and bellows
craft loom
typical soldiers room
and dad just had to have some funnies

That helmet was HEAVY

Emergency trip

Made an emergency trip down south this past Wednesday. Long trip but I'm glad I made it.

I haven't seen my cousin in over 10 years and here she is 77 years old not doing well at all.  The hospital staff  was able to get her in a chair and they told us she was stable enough to move to rehab. She wants to be with her husband so bad but I found out she's being moved to a different rehab facility.

Still in all I'm glad I went down there.

No Power

Power over in my side of town went out yesterday a bit after one. It's still out as I blog. Hoping everyone is keeping warm and safe.

We've got a cozy fire going and oil lamps to light our way. Though I do hope the power comes back on soon.

All I've worked on is my hand projects. Though now I won't be able to get much done since I just burned my fingers of my left hand. Silly me was doing so well, until the very end.

Change

I've been busy redoing my sewing/craft room, since I read a book about designing your craft area. Sad to say I can't remember the title. Well, it's still a work in progress.

Been working on UFO's in my spare time and really have nothing to report on that end. One of these days, I'll get one finished.

Pixel Block set 5

Another set done. Now to prep the next set. Wish they would whip up on their own. Not, where would be the challenge. They remind me of those picture puzzles, where you slid the tiles around until the picture was there to see.

Reading

I've been doing plenty of reading. I borrowed from the library and read, 'Stash Envy' by Lisa Boyer. I was laughing so mucb, I had to buy the book. I also bought her first book, 'The Dorky Homemade Look'.  Which arrived in the mail today and am looking forward to sitting down and reading.

I also finished a cross stitch design into a mini quilt wall hanging. Think it turned out pretty well.

Got side tracked...

Was crocheting my shawl when Buck came home with a Swiffer mop and pads

...he said he was throwing out a HINT...hahaha jokes on him because I just made one of these I found on Pinterest.
Now I've made 2 of these and have started a third one,  Save money and I'm using yarn stash.

Stash Envy by L. Boyer

My dear daughter told me abut this book.  After listening to her speak about it I wanted it.  I told her I'd wait until she let me borrow it from her but I'll admit I'm a bit impatient.

If you know me then you'll have to admit I'm getting to be an old lady and set in my ways and I made up  my mind and followed through...(I got my book).
Now the hard part comes because I'm forced to WAIT 6 days until it is delivered.

New Colors

Well I started my shawl in a pink color but didn't have enough yarn to finish sooooo I took it all apart.  Then I went in search through all my bins for a color I had enough in. I ended up with 3 skeins of Navy Blue and 2 skeins of Turqua.  Wasn't too happy with my choices but I tried and it has begun to grow on me.
I'm only a quarter way through with it but I believe it may be a pretty one once I'm finished.

UFO Humor

Just working on the many UFO's I have underfoot. Hoping to finish a few this year.

The F-word being 'finish it' of course.

Oh, how I wish!!!

ARRRRGH!

Found 3 skeins of yarn so now I have enough yarn to make my shawl.  My only problem is I really don't want to use this color. Dark Navy......I'm wanting to get away from dark colors. I think I'll try to intergrate some turqua into it.  Won't know till I try.

Butterflies

Well with the new Sunday school theme I decided to add butterflies. Thought on it and came up with a cool mobile. Not the best, just using what I have. Need to get busy on creating some trees for the classroom.

I've made two of these for my classroom.

In other news, still working on my pile of ufo's, and gathering more project ideas as well as telling myself I shouldn't start anything new. That is a problem in itself.

Made a mistake

I started a pink shawl but my mistake was not realizing I didn't have enough of the same yarn. I'm trying to use up what I have and not go out and buy new stuff.  So I undid the whole thing and went in search for a color I had at least 3 skeins worth.
Arm is still sore and I'm having to rest today.  I'll start on the new color tomorrow and show pictures.

Finally Back

It's been quite awhile but I'm finally able to use my arm some.  It's still healing but at least I can now start some craft.

I chose crochet because I use my right arm and hand the most now days. My left hand just holds the yarn but it's a start.

I started this shawl today around 2:00pm.
I've worked on it a little bit at a time resting my arm between rows.  It's actually coming along quite nicely.
This is what I have so far and it's 7:21 at night now.
Gonna call it quits for now and rest the arm so I can do more
tomorrow.

A bit of this and that

Those spool birds are so easy to put together I decided my craft room needed one, just to add to my creative space.

Decided it was time for a new door hanger. Hard to do when you just feel drained of inspiration and it took half a day on pinterest before I saw something I liked. There was no pattern, so I pulled out some graph paper and got busy.
