Finished

Well, this has been a bittersweet week for my family. My husband's grandfather passed away. We had his funeral yesterday. Good to see family, but how we all wished it was under better circumstances. He had lived a full life, passing awayat the age of 90.

Today, we closed on the house. Signed off on all our paperwork and hoping to receive the keys tomorrow. Kids are excited and impatient for this move. Still a lot of work ahead of us.

Been busy crocheting small things for the kitchen. Mainly dish scrubbies, trying out that Red Heart scrub it yarn. Also have been g stitchingup some pretty hot pads.

P.S. Tablet or website keeps messing with my spelling and spacing. I honestly type better than this.

Getting a Spark

Was sitting in the dining room with Lisa and she was showing me a the crocheted goodies she was doing for her new house once they move.  Looking at the finished products and then looking at the pattern she showed me got me started to think about how I used to crochet things.

I went to ravelry.com and started a new account because I couldn't remember my old one and then I started to save things that looked interesting to me.

I made a to do list and I think I'll try some Scrubby dots. I'm posting a picture to show you what I mean.

Wish me luck. Now to look for my hooks and yarn. Husband is gonna kill me. lol

Keeping Busy

Well, we're another step closer to getting a house. So, much paperwork needing to be waded through, but looks to be that I'll be moving next month. I'll be busy  packing, so only small quick projects will be posted. Can't help myself, got to keep my hands busy.

In the Sunday School class I share we're starting our new quarter in September and the theme is owls. O.W.L. Our Wise Lord. Went to ravelry for some ideas on patterns and got busy making 3 batches to hang around the classroom.

Spent a day using up some scraps and tried my hand at crumb quilting and string quilting. Also sewed up another granny block.

Just some of the things I've been doing to help me relax.

Life

Life has got in the way of my crafting.  I have had some discouraging news and have been contemplating what my next course is...so until then as for my part of this blog it will be put on hold.  Hopefully I'll be back soon with new projects or to say the least finished ones.

Pixel Update

Here's the third set of pixel blocks. Still have many more to go, but need to pack away.

My family and I are waiting word on if we'll be moving this month. Not wanting to start the next set only to have to pack it up mid sewing.

Finished embroidering a house warming gift for friends who had just moved into their new home. So pretty, decided to work on one for myself in hopes of our move.

Also, finished making those hexies into diamonds. Now to put it all together, but that will have to wait till after the move.

So, I'm in the process of keeping projects simple and quick and minimize tools.
