Just some small projects I've whipped up and some big ones I'm trying to finish. Of course, the last photo is my crew and one of my son's friend helping to pin baste a quilt.

Hello, from the other side of strings and things! This here would be the daughter. ;-) I have a tendency to begin lots of projects and take forever to wrap up the bigger ones. Yet isn't that how it goes for most of us.

Let me introduce myself, I've been happily married to a wonderful handsome man for the past 20 years. We have 4 beautiful children, 1 girl and 3 boys, who are going through or just entering those dreaded teen years. I've been sewing, crocheting, and cooking most of my life. My mom started me down this road and where I was the student, we have switched roles and now I'm the teacher.

My mother and I have a great relationship. Yeah, we have bumps along the road, but we've learned to laugh and continue down the road. Hopefully, we'll have many laughs along this new road.

As well as laughs and words of encouragement to any of those who would like to tag along with us.

So tired

Well, I've had 4 hours of sleep and I'm dragging rear end.  I've gone out and got me some Tylenol PM and I'm still waiting for it to work.  Maybe the sandman will visit me soon.

Thursday Quilt day

Well, I've not had any sleep for the past 36 hours and I really don't want to mess up a new square. We were suppose to get together tonight and start the Beggar Block but unfortunately  I'm not up to the challenge right now.

No rush....we'll get it done.

Second try at the Mosaic 2 block

Quilt block #2 Beggars Block

OMG!  I bit off more than I can chew but I'm game to try and do it.
I've cut out my pieces and even though their seems to be a lot, I've not backed out yet....lol.
Here they all are and those little whit triangles count out to be 32 pieces just on their own.
Now here I've only partially laid out the block just to give myself an idea what it will look like with my material choices.

Tomorrow we get together and start sewing on this block.  We've both agreed we'll not get the whole block completed in the time we're getting together so once I've finished my block...you get a pic.

Quilt Block #1 Mosaic 2

We have chosen 12 blocks to make and as we progress I'll post them.  Last week (actually 2 weeks ago) we did the Mosaic 2 block and it was fun but I made mistakes.

These are the pieces I had to cut out. (I'll let you know the red triangles I cut out crooked and had to re cut).
This is what it should look like once it is sewn. (fingers crossed)

Not too happy for my first try but I'm going to leave it to show my progress.
This is the completed Mosaic 2 with mistakes. Like I said I'm going to leave them and show my progress.

Quilt Blocks

Guess what? I want to learn how to quilt and yep Lisa is the one I've tagged to help me out...

The Chatalaine around her neck is a neat little thing she made to keep her needle, thread, pin cushion, ruler, and marking pens close at hand.  She has made a number of things and as time goes by I'll be posting pictures of what she's done or has taught me.

I have my hand into a number of things and each week we plan on doing a different quilt block.

So without further ado........

Hexi Fun

I've been dabbling with hexagons and got hooked on them.  Lisa said it was called English Paper Piecing and I told her infatically I'd not get into EPP.  Duh!  I'M HOOKED!

I just started sewing them one day after she showed me how and I've gone a bit crazy.  After I had quite a few of them completed I started looking for things to make.  I finally made 2 such things and I hope to put the pictures here.

Welcome to a new beginning
