I've finally started this challenge and the first block is done.
But to be honest...I had to take a four square off and turn it and re sew it back on. I told my daughter it wouldn't be the same if I didn't have to rip something apart. I guess if I do that then I know it's mine.....lol.
Here is the block:
It's getting cold here in Texas with the temperature fluctuating and if you live here you better be ready. So it's cold and I sure hope no snow comes in April/May....but you never know? ? ?

Ok I've jumped ahead and chose my colors but I went a step further and cut them out but I've already laid them out on my design board. What do you think?
I've drawn my block out and colored it to help me choose my colors. I really could not picture this block with my colors so this is what I came up with to help me out. Now to cut material.
o Finally finished this one. Plenty of triangles. Fairly easy to do. Mine is crooked but I'm always critical of my own work.
Actually sitting here listening to my favorite Elvis Presley singing How Great Thou Art. Just love his rendition of that beautiful song.
While listening I'm putting together my sample of the spider block. I'll do another in the real colors.
But in the meantime here's the completed sample.
If you look at my last post ...my picture was NOT correct. Thankfully I had not seen it. Lisa came back to talk to me and after looking at my design board (she made me) she corrected my goober.

I've already cut out my pieces and my dear loving and ever so helpful daughter made me a small design board to place my pieces on so I know which way the design goes and I can see them in order.
I said I was going to take the name of "ripper" and now I do mean it. But the first picture is all wrong and middle picture is correct and last one is four put together.
I'm hard on myself. I like things to look right and not have any mistakes. Guess that makes me like a perfectionist, but I know I'm NOT.
I practice on things before tackling the real object of choice if I can. So, with that being said I'm taking the craft name of Ripper. I'm always taking out seams. Haha
Now I have to cut out my material with true colors.
This week we'll be doing the Ribbon Block.
Oh boy, more triangles. No flying geese this time, (sure hope they've flown away for awhile) lol.
This is just little triangles that once put together look like a figure 8. Wonder if I'm gonna get this one right?
Come on...I'm positive I can mess it up...lol. Got to keep an upbeat attitude though.
I CAN DO IT!
Well after the third time I finally got it right. Whew! Wipe my forehead...lol. As long as I don't give up. Naw...Lisa won't let me. Hey Lisa, I said I'd get it
posted before midnight. It's 9:30. Yea!
Now can I start the next one? :-)
I've sewn this twice and each time it's wrong. Gonna have to rip it apart again.

Well I've not let the last block stop me. A lot of triangles once again. These are called flying geese and I hope to have a lot of fun.
I've already cut out my material and will be sitting down soon to sew.
Still taking pain killers and I feel like I'm higher than a kite, but I tried for a third time and yes I made a lot of mistakes. Its completed and I'll not try that one again any time soon.
